If you belong to one of the privileged groups, you can unlock your special rates in just a few quick steps.
Step 1. Get verified
To start using the Telcell Wallet app, go through the automated verification process, which takes only a few minutes. Afterward, open a free bank account and digital card, or simply link your Armenian bank card.
Step 2. Go to the transport section
From the home screen, go to the «Transport» section.
Step 3. Check discount availability
Tap the «Discount» button in the upper right corner. In the pop-up window, tap «Get Status».
Your request will be sent to the Yerevan Municipality system for citizens with privileged status. If your data is in the state database, your status in the app will be updated within 24 hours.
How to buy a discounted ticket in Telcell Wallet
Once your status is confirmed, you can purchase any available ticket with your own privilege and the extra Telcell Wallet discount․
- «In the «Transport» section tap «Buy Ticket»․ The prices will instantly show the reduced rates, combining your privilege and the Telcell Wallet discount,
- choose your ticket or package and tap «Buy»,
- select the quantity and your payment method,
- tap «Continue»,check the details and tap «Pay».
Who qualifies for discounts in Telcell Wallet
The list of eligible individuals is defined by a decision of the Yerevan Council of Elders. The system verifies the data automatically based on official records․
- students studying in Yerevan’s vocational schools, colleges and higher education institutions get a 15% discount,
- retirees registered in any community of Armenia get a 30% discount,
- social benefit recipients registered in any community of Armenia get a 20% discount.
Who can use public transport for free
Free travel is granted to․
- children up to 7 years old inclusive (without a transport card),
- individuals living in nursing homes or orphanages under full state care,
- individuals with deep or severe functional limitations (1st and 2nd disability groups), as well as those with moderate limitations (3rd group) resulting from military service,
- parents with 4 or more children registered in Yerevan,
- parents with 5 or more children (registered anywhere across Armenia),
- orphaned school and university students,
- family members (widows/widowers, minor children, parents) of service members who were killed, went missing or were declared deceased during combat operations for the defense of the Republic of Artsakh or the Republic of Armenia,
- heroes of the former USSR, individuals subjected to political repression,
- heroes of Socialist Labor, National Heroes of Armenia,
- individuals awarded the 1st and 2nd degree «Order of the Combat Cross» and all three degrees of the «Order of Glory»,
- individuals awarded orders and medals of the former USSR for selfless labor on the home front during the Great Patriotic War,
- honorary citizens of Yerevan.
